Vodacom Mozambique Fashion Week

More than 100,000 marine animals die each year from trash dumped into our planet’s oceans. In Mozambique, in addition to the lack of a sustainable recycling system, there is a bad habit of littering along the country’s vast coastline, mainly on beaches and especially during the holiday season. December 4 was World Wildlife Conservation Day and in order to draw society’s attention to this situation, Mozambique Fashion Week launched the Unwanted Fashion campaign, transforming the trash that is dumped into the oceans in fashion accessories and the animals in digital influencers. The initiative wasn’t just live on digital. Also offline, the event’s catwalk was entirely built with 5,000 tiles made from 250,000 plastic bottle caps. Mozambique Fashion Week also featured exhibits of sculptures of marine animals and a 6-meter tree, both made from recycled materials and illuminated with energy from solar panels. In all, more than 1 ton of plastic was used to build these works.

Burger King

With their agency Buzzman, BURGER KING® France bounced back with humor to the latest controversial work of Maurizio Cattelan: a banana simply stuck on a wall, which sold for $120,000.00 and was eaten by a visitor. On their social networks, the American brand trolled the work of art, replacing the fruit by a French-fry. All this for a much more reasonable price, obviously.

An ironic way of displaying the excesses of contemporary art, and to remember that BURGER KING®, at least, is not bananas.

Give Children a Hand: New Swiss banknotes help children with a missing hand

Give Children a Hand

„Give Children a Hand” is a Swiss charity that gives children with physical disabilities access to modern hand prostheses. In order to help as many affected children as possible, the charity is dependent on financial support. Therefore a touching donation campaign should be created. Solution & Cultural Context: A new banknote series was introduced in Switzerland in 2019 – for the first time in 20 years. In the country of the banks, the launch of a new banknote series always gains a lot of attention. This time in particular: for the first time in its history, Swiss banknotes no longer portray famous personalities. Instead, the defining visual feature is the human hand. We made creative use of this for the campaign. The donors’ money becomes the children’s new hand. And it enables them to do all the things they wouldn’t otherwise be able to do: ride a bicycle, confidently stretch out their hand at school, etc. A separate motif was developed for each monetary value. So we had the chance to address small donors as well as major donors.
